Verbatum’s website serves static pages. It does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind. We do not log your visits.

The app

Verbatum is a native macOS app that works offline and stores your sermons as plain Markdown files on your disk. It does not have accounts, telemetry, or a backend.

The app makes network requests only in two situations:

• Automatic update checks. On launch and periodically, Verbatum checks https://verbatum.app/appcast.xml to see whether a new version is available. This is a standard HTTPS request with no user identifier beyond what every web request sends (IP address, OS version). We do not retain or analyse these requests.
• iCloud sync, if you enable it. If you keep your sermons in iCloud Drive (off by default), syncing happens through Apple’s iCloud — we never see your documents. Turn it off at any time via System Settings → Apple ID → iCloud Drive.

Your sermons never leave your device unless you put them somewhere yourself.
